Sewing for Baby

I have a new grand-nephew and another soon to arrive so I have been looking for sewing ideas for baby.  I like this swaddling blanket for the carseat from Made By Marzipan.  She gives all the instructions, free pattern and a video DIY.  This one is made with two pieces of fabric and batting center for warmth, but you could use two pieces of polar fleece and leave out the batting.  Both options would be nice and warm.
Who is that little owl?  This cute pattern comes from Crazy Little Projects.  A bath towel and hand towel and you have a simple but fun gift.  She has some other towel ideas on her blog too.
