Pantry Soaps

26 Apr

Homemade soaps are a wonderful gift to give and receive, but I don’t want to work with lye.  Lye can make a wonderful soap, but you have to be very careful and have tools dedicated to making soap only.  There is a way to make your own soap without the use of lye and Martha Stewart shows you how with her pantry soaps.  I have made my own soap and scrub by taking a pringles can, fitting a loofah inside and once the soap has cured (harden) cut off the bottom, push the bottom of the soap to remove from can and cut into slices, a serrated knife works well.   Glycerin soap can be found at the craft store or in the health food section of your grocery store.  Do not use liquid soap.
