watercolor birch trees

10 Mar

I saw this technique of painting birch trees about 15 years ago.  A teacher had her classrooms art work on display and I was amazed at how wonderful everyone did.  Now 15 years later I found instructions and had my students give it a try.  I followed the instructions from deep space sparkle.  Tearing the masking tape is a little tricky, but you can layer the torn pieces as long as you have it pressed down to the paper so the watercolor paint will not seep through.  It is fun to see what your student will add to their picture.
